Anonymous asked: In regards to your story on Manong by the Road...I was just wondering if you had tried to track down his daughter. Maybe now, she can take care of her father after all the years he took care of her. This story breaks my heart :( how could any adult not want to care for their parent(s)

I have contacted all of his kids. They have all been reaching out to Manong up until dec. 2011. they never knew his situation because he would never mention it to them.

Anonymous asked: Thank you. It saddens me that Manong thinks he's a burden. I feel that is because, in our modern culture, many have forgotten our ways of tribal living. Traditionally, Manong as an elder, would be revered in his community because of his wisdom and experience. That is where he would be taking care of us. He would be involved and not a burden. Respect Our Elders. Thank you again.

Amen!! Please keep in mind though that with this story, his family has come forward and told me their side, so they have never abandoned him.. they just have a conflict with manong’s new family and that is why they can never talk to each other properly. Manong also never told his family of his conditions here in Guam. they all thought he was still working at payless.

Anonymous asked: can you call me i would like to make a donation. 482-6924 mona

Hi mona.. as of now, I am no longer accepting donations on behalf of Manong. there are alot of wreckers out there looking to flip this story. So what you can do is just keep an eye out for manong on the islands again :)

Anonymous asked: I'd like to be able to help, who can I contact if I do not see this man?

Thank you. For now, I cannot release names of the people helping him out, but if you really want to, just keep a lookout for manong at his spots or itc :)

maariiel asked: Hi, I really love your story and I would LOVE to donate :) ♥

Hello :) thank you and if you are on the island of Guam, I hope you see manong around. I no longer accept paypal transfers because there are alot of haters and wreckers out there who want to use everything they can to flip this story around. if you haven’t, subscribe to my facebook page for all updates..

xxjennuhhh asked: is he there like everyday? i'd like to help too.your story was truly heartwarming and you're a really nice person.

lately, we have been trying to talk him out of standing on the island to earn something.. but he still wants to go back lol. i think he’s getting bored. keep an eye out though. :)

Anonymous asked: My uncle works w/ Catholic Social Services, most specifically the men's homeless shelter. I linked him to Manong's story and he told me that the reason why we doesn't stay at the shelter is because he won't do the housework. [You get free housing, but there are chores that you must do.] He just sleeps there then goes out during the day. He has money, and a car. Please don't let this be a scam for you to get $$$ because I see you collecting via paypal and etc...

I can see where you are coming from Anonymous. Manong is an old man.. he has a bad back and can be a little hard headed. whatever he chooses to do, is his decision though. let’s not judge him just because he did not want to do house chores. this is not a scam either. i have not accepted ANY funds from paypal. If you keep up to date with my facebook page, you can see all updates and that I have notified EVERYONE that I will not be accepting paypal transfers. hope this helps.

Anonymous asked: such a beautiful, heartfelt, sad, and inspiring story. I wish we could lead by his example of not being ashamed of who we are, not being materialistic, to have faith and trust in the lord.

thank you. i know this has inspired people to open their hearts to those in need. :)

Anonymous asked: Has he purchased his ticket yet? I see that he is trying to leave on March. Blessings from God, I'd like to purchase his ticket if it hasn't been completed.

He has not purchased his ticket yet. Please search my name on facebook if you still want to help out. :)

Anonymous asked: how is manong buddy right now?i hope he is ok..

manong is doing great. :)

Anonymous asked: how come i dont see manong, when i pass by the itc intersection no more?. Do you know when is he leaving?

manong wants to go back to the streets, so you might see him coming out sometimes.. that is when he is being hard headed lol. no one wants him to do what he does, but he gets bored just sitting around.

Anonymous asked: You haven't replied to my post.. So it's true then?

You can mail us a money order (which you can get at the post office) or by paypal or concealed cash. Let me know. :D

ber-ber671 asked: Your story really... Loved it! It really touched me... Wish I was on island to help and glad there are still good people out there who really care! Thanks. Not many people would do things like this, especially for a stranger. Is it alright if I re-post and add to my fb so that my family back home can help too? Please let me know. Thanks and God Bless!

Please feel free to share this story!! <3 The more help the better :D God Bless!
